10 quotes

There are many quotes in the world. Anything a person says can be made into a quote. I have seen many quotes that have inspired me, but here are 10 quotes that I live by:

1. “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” – Albert Einstein
- I live by this quote because it basically states that making mistakes is ok. If you make a mistake, you are doing things right. Trying new things is a great thing in life and definitely an important aspect of life. If you aren’t out there exploring the adventures life has for you, you are wasting your time.

2. “Fall seven times and stand up eight.” –Japanese Proverb
- I live by this quote especially because it tells you to overcome any obstacle that may knock you down. You have to be strong to come back up after defeat and it may seem impossible to stand back up at times, but your true strength comes out after you finally stand up.

3. “You’re never a loser until you quit trying.” – Mike Ditka
- I live by this quote because of the fact that I play soccer. I know I will never truly lose a game unless I quit or give up on the game. If I don’t put forth my all into the game, then I consider that a loss even if my team wins. I’d rather lose a game 1-0 and giving it nothing but my all, than winning a game 5-0 than not trying hard enough and becoming a better player.

4. “Everything has beauty, but not everyone can see.” –Confucius
- I live by this quote because even if someone might not think a certain person is beautiful, another might believe that she is the most beautiful person in the world. Everyone and everything has beauty in their own special unique way and I love that. If a person can truly see the beauty in everything, they are open to a whole new world.

5. “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, “I’m possible!” –Audrey Hepburn
- I live by this quote simply because it says nothing is impossible. You can achieve anything realistic in the world if you truly believe in it. Don’t quit and you will achieve your goal. The word impossible says, I’m possible is my favorite part.

6. “The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning.”– Pele
- I live by this quote because it states that challenges are greater than a walk through the park. Winning a game 23-0 isn’t fun at all. But winning a game 4-3 in the finals is one of the greatest feelings ever.

7. “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” –Walt Disney
-  I live by this quote because you have to stop talking the talk, but walk the walk. Instead of saying, “Oh I need to go to the gym and work out”, you need to not say a word, but just head out to the gym and work out.

8. “I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” -Michael Jordan
- I live by this quote because it shows that failure is a learning experience. After you fail numerous times, you will succeed if you learn from all of your failures.

9. “Never let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life.” – unknown
- I live by this quote because I have been through many bad days in my life, but because of this quote, I won’t let that stop me from having a good life. It’s just one bad day out of how many good days that I’ve had. I tend to forget all the bad days that I have been through.

10. “Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be.” –Grandma Moses
- I live by this quote because you are the controller of your life. Do what you want to do. If you want your life to be a certain way, work your way so that you can achieve that. Nothing can stop you from achieving your goals.

What is happiness?

Happiness is something that everyone should have. Bringing happiness to another person is one of the greatest feelings you can experience. Making a person happy not only brings happiness to the person, but for you as well.  I don’t know about you readers, but whenever I make a person happy, I always have a little good feeling inside of me. As if I accomplished the minor things in life that have great meanings.  You always should remember the little things or enjoy the little things that life brings to you. No one knows how your life will turn out as, but there is only one person that can shape their life into the way they want it to be. And that person is no one else but you.

Being happy is such an amazing feeling that the human body can express. You can almost always tell when a person is happy from a certain thing on their face. The person’s smile! When most people are happy, they can’t help but to break out a smile. This is one of the greatest sights to see. When people are truly happy and have a real smile on, that’s a great moment to be in. I really enjoy being with my friends because it is always a good time. Not once have I ever spent a day with my friends and not smile or be happy. Some people who are too depressed because a horrible thing happened to them or for various reasons need help to get back into happiness. The only way they can get back to happiness is form the help of their support system. Whether its friends, families, or even strangers, all of these people should help that person seek happiness again.

Seeking happiness is not a difficult thing to find. You can simply find happiness from doing the things that you love. Personally, I love doing many things. I love going out with friends or meeting new people who will eventually become my friends. Playing soccer or a couple of other sports. Just chilling at home in the nice cool breeze relaxing with the family or the exact opposite and going out and exploring what the word has to offer. There are many things that can make me happy and to be honest, I believe that I get happy very easily. Many people have their own ways of seeking happiness. Some use pain and torture as their way to become happy or others might like to do boring things that make them happy. It really does not matter at all what exactly makes a person happy, but the fact that the person is happy is what is important.

Happiness is a key factor in living. What’s the point of living if you aren’t even enjoying it right? I seriously do not get how some people are always depressed all the time. CHANGE IT. Only you can change your ways to become happy. Believe it or not, you are the one that chooses to become happy or stay stale. The emotions are all your own so you are the one to control them. If you can’t find your happiness, keep on trying new things until you actually find that happiness! Try new things with new people and eventually you will have to have found happiness.

Enjoying life is what life is all about. Doesn’t matter what makes you enjoy it, just as long as you are actually enjoying life! An easy way to stay happy is to be happy in every single thing you have to do. Optimism is a great way to live your life. Taking a look at the bright side of things is really great. Instead of seeing a cup as half empty, you should see it as half full.

One book that benefited me the most

In all honesty, I have not read many books in my life. I am the type of person who doesn’t really enjoy reading, but there were a couple of books in the minor amount of books that I have read in my life that I actually enjoyed reading. I’ve read books like The Good Earth, Great Gatbsy, Hunger Games, but this one book that I read is not like any of these books at all. The book that benefited me the most is called, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. This book was originally from my father’s bookshelf but he told me that I should read it one day because it is so beneficial in life.

The Secret posits that the law of attraction is a natural law that determines the complete order of the universe and of our personal lives through the process of "like attracts like". The author claims that as we think and feel, a corresponding frequency is sent out into the universe that attracts back to us events and circumstances on that same frequency. For example, if you think angry thoughts and feel angry, it is claimed that you will attract back events and circumstances that cause you to feel more anger. Conversely, if you think and feel positively, you will attract back positive events and circumstances. Proponents of the law claim that desirable outcomes such as health, wealth, and happiness can be attracted simply by changing one's thoughts and feelings. For example, some people believe that using the Secret can cure cancer. I am among one of those few that believe it. My dad had cancer but when he started reading this book, he got healed from cancer. Of course the other treatments had a great effect too, but the Secret probably helped saved my dad’s life.

The book begins by introducing and explaining the mechanisms of the law of attraction, and then goes on to describe its past functions and the great men and women in history who are claimed to have controlled its power. The book describes the law as a magnetic power emitted through one's thoughts. The power of thoughts is associated to a transmission tower that sends out a frequency to the universe and then returns the same frequency in a physical or elemental form. So what you think is literally what you will get. Well of course you can’t just think to get a Lamborghini and then pop its there, but if you truly believe in yourself that you’re going to get a Lamborghini in the future, it will surely come to you. If you keep saying, “I don’t have money”, you literally will start to not have money. That’s why you should always imply that you have money. Sending that transmission to your head will tell the body that you have money and there is nothing to worry about.

The law works whether you know about it or not, or believe in it or not. Yet once you do, an amazing possibility emerges: you can “think your life into existence”. In observing the incredible imbalance of wealth on our planet, Byrne offers this as the reason: People who are wealthy think only thoughts of more wealth - “They only know wealth, and nothing else exists in their minds.” Even those people who have made a fortune then lost it, most become wealthy again before long. This is because they remain focused on abundance all the time, despite current circumstances. The law of attraction must deliver to them the equivalent of their dominant thoughts.

This has benefited me personally into thinking brightly of things and thinking the correct thoughts on how I want my life to be. The Secret truly does work and it is fascinating. The three things you need to do in the Secret are:

Ask. Believe. Receive.

Looks vs. Ideas

Todays prompt is asking if I agree or disagree that a person clothing or looks is more important that the person’s ideas to succeed. I personally believe that this is a very difficult prompt because I believe in both. Nowadays I’m sure society agrees more towards a person’s clothing or looks rather than their ideas in order to succeed. If a person has the looks and clothing to get a persons attention, then talks to them about their great ideas, they are the ideal people in this case. For example, Albert Einstein was definitely not the most handsome person in the world. He might not have even worn the best clothes or fashion that most people adore, but he definitely had amazing ideas. With his ideas, he became pretty much the smartest man in the world. That to me is such a great experience. Out of 6 billion people and you are being named the smartest in the world. Another example was the 1960 presidential election between Richard Nixon and eventual winner John F. Kennedy. When the two presidential contenders were debating against each other, their debate was being broadcasted on the television and also the radio. History shows that the people who listened to the radio and only heard the ideas of the two presidential candidates most likely voted for Nixon because of his ideas. However, the people who had seen the debates on live television tended to vote for Kennedy because he was clearly the more handsome man. Ofcourse that is not the only reason Kennedy won, but that had influenced him to win. This shows that even in America, a person’s looks might be looked at more than a person’s ideas. Even in America nowadays, I truly believe that a person’s looks or clothing is a lot more important that a person’s ideas in order to succeed. Most successful people in America are good looking in my opinion. This just shows how America suppresses its peoples in a way that teaches them that looks and clothing is more important than a person’s ideas.

To succeed, I personally believe that a person’s ideas are a lot more important than the person’s looks or clothing because the person just needs to be himself or herself. If other people don’t like it, then that’s their fault. But due to today’s society, I feel as though looks must be needed in order to succeed. In the past, being successful was truly based upon a person’s ideas rather than their looks. If one aimed to be successful, that person should bring up their intelligent ideas to the community so that their status in the community can excel. However, nowadays people who have intelligent ideas are somewhat oppressed by the people because of their appearance. This just isn’t right. Looks should not have anything to do with a person’s ideas. For example, majority of the people who are successful are good looking. Most of their ideas are crazy. Take Miley Cyrus for an example. She is a twerking crazy girl. She has become into this wild party girl that has probably annoyed and shocked the whole world. However, take a look at how much money she has because of that. She has so much money because of her stupid ideas but all for her act and looks.

Three qualities of true friends

There can be many different types of friends out there. Some who stick with you through thick and thin. Some who might abandon you if you get into some tough times and leave you alone. The true friends are those that stick with you no matter what and will stand up for you no matter what. It is easy to say you have many friends, but how many of those friends are your true friends? I believe that the three qualities that are needed in order to be a true friend are trust, caring, and a loyal person you can depend on.

Trust is the most important aspect for any type of relationship.Whether its mother and daughter, friend to friend, husband to wife, etc. Without trust, the whole relationship will be screwed over. The two people won't trust one another and their assumptions will kick in and then boom, end of relationship. That is why trust is key. If someone trusts you, you have to be sure not to go around stabbing them in the back or it will come back at you and hurt you. If you trust someone, you're basically relying on them with your things. For example, if you tell a secret to your best friend, you trust that they won't ever tell anyone. That's a really important thing to do if you are being told a secret. Don't. Tell. Anyone. If the person finds out that you were the one that told people, all the trust that that person had in you will be gone. Regaining trust is a really difficult thing to do. It's like a broken vase. Even if you glue it back together it just won't be the same anymore.

Caring is another important aspect in a friendship. If your friends don't even care about you, they aren't your true friends. Not even your friends in general I guess. If someone cares about you more than they care about themselves, they are definitely your true friends. If you get hurt, and someone comes to your aid, they are probably your true friends. However if they are your true friends too, they will laugh about it because they feel that comfortable with you.

Having a loyal person you can depend on is one of the best things to have in your lifetime. Sometimes you just have to let things out. With having a loyal person you can depend on, they are there when you need them and should be there at any time. The loyal people that you can depend on are the ones that if you ask them to do something, you know for certain they will do it. For example, if one of your friends asks to borrow $100 and you know they'll pay back as soon as they can, you can depend on them. Depending on them and trusting them are sort of the same thing, but I believe that depending on a person is just a little different. Depending on someone is used when you ask them to do something and knowing that they'll do it for sure. Trust is when you know that they can be truthful to you and all.

Personally I believe I have many true friends. We all get along and that is very exciting. Very fun and is full of surprises. Yes ofcourse I have had a few people who I thought were true friends turn their back on me and go against me, but I have no worries. It's their loss and I don't even care.
